TENET at the “Unity in Diversity” Forum: Supporting Roma Youth

Member of NGO “TENET,” became a voice for Roma youth at the prestigious “Unity in Diversity” Forum, held from November 11 to 14. During a panel discussion, she presented our organization’s activities and shared successful strategies for engaging and supporting youth from national communities, especially in the context of the full-scale war.

The Voice of Roma Youth in Wartime: The “AMARO GLASO” Project

The centerpiece of the speech was the presentation of our youth project, “AMARO GLASO,” which translates from the Romani language as “Our Voice.” This initiative is aimed at strengthening the voice and visibility of Roma youth in Ukrainian society.

The project included the creation of an information platform on Instagram – @tenet_info_8 – which has become a safe space for self-expression, sharing ideas, and implementing their own initiatives for young Roma. This project is a prime example of how youth initiatives help strengthen community bonds and overcome the challenges caused by the war.

From Initiative to Integration: The Role of Youth and International Support

The importance of involving youth from all national communities in active civic life as a key factor in building a cohesive and resilient society. Also was noted the indispensable role of the Council of Europe in supporting such initiatives. Cooperation with the Council of Europe helps expand opportunities for youth from national minorities, promoting their deeper integration and participation in decision-making processes.

A Platform for Dialogue about Ukraine’s Future

The “Unity in Diversity” Forum served as an important platform for discussing the preservation of cultural identity, inclusion, and the creation of equal opportunities. The work of TENET and the participation of our representatives in such events are a practical embodiment of the idea of building a strong, tolerant, and modern Ukraine, where the voice of every community is heard and valued.
